Louisiana woman dead after car accident

| Nov 14, 2016 | Car Accidents

A woman from Houma, Louisiana, passed away on Nov. 2, 2016 from the motor vehicle accident injuries she sustained several days prior. She was involved in a car accident on Oct. 30 near Enterprise Drive in Houma. She later died from the injuries she received when she was struck by the car.

The crash occurred at approximately 7 p.m. According to a news release from the state police, the preliminary investigation reveals that the car that struck her was driving in the outside lane on LA 3040. The driver was properly restrained and thus was not hurt when he crashed into the woman.

While the driver of the car was not injured, the woman was seriously wounded. She was taken to the University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, for treatment. She died at the hospital several days later from her injuries. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the car accident is ongoing.

If negligence on the part of the driver is discovered, the family of the deceased may choose to seek legal counsel. In car accident cases such as this one, when fault can be established, the surviving family members often benefit from the advice of an attorney with experience in similar wrongful death lawsuits and knowledge of cases involving motor vehicle accidents, car crashes and the like. A skilled lawyer could help guide the grieving family through the legal process of filing a civil suit to obtain monetary compensation for funeral expenses and for the pain and suffering due to loss of their loved one.
