Louisiana State Police need help in hit-and-run car accident

Louisiana State Police are looking for a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on LA 43 recently. The descriptions of the vehicle given by witnesses to the hit-and-run car accident led troopers to believe they are searching for a dark colored pickup truck manufactured by either Chevrolet or GMC. The teenage victim survived, but was listed in serious condition at last report.

Victims of truck accidents can have lengthy recoveries

Many people in Louisiana are fortunate enough to walk away from an accident involving a tractor trailer. More often, however, victims of truck accidents endure lengthy recoveries because, even though they survive, their injuries can be severe and life threatening. This was the fate of a pickup truck driver recently injured in a crash with an 18-wheeler.

Woman sues ambulance driver for injuries suffered in car accident

Even though emergency vehicles in Louisiana may circumvent certain traffic laws when required, their drivers are still responsible for ensuring the safety of other motorists. For example, when going through an intersection, the lights and sirens are there to alert drivers that they need to yield the right-of-way. However, that does not mean that drivers of emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars and fire trucks do not have to slow at intersections to ensure they can pass through them safely without causing a car accident.

Recovering from motorcycle injuries can be financially difficult

Because of their vulnerability, Louisiana motorcycle riders who are involved in an accident often suffer injuries far worse than people riding in passenger cars or other vehicles with an enclosed cabin. Recovering from motorcycle injuries can involve a significant amount of time. During that time, medical bills, lost income and other financial damages add up quickly.
