Louisiana car accident claims the life of an unidentified man

Curiously, a driver involved in a collision on Interstate 10 reportedly refused to provide police any information regarding the identity of his passenger. At last report, the Louisiana State Police had not yet discovered who the man was. In the meantime, troopers took the driver into custody and booked him on charges of vehicular homicide along with several other charges in connection with the car accident.

The unknown passenger was not the only victim in this crash, however. A second vehicle was struck by the out-of-control car. No information regarding the occupants of that vehicle was provided.

The accident occurred when the driver allegedly failed to maintain control of the vehicle for an as yet unknown reason. This caused the vehicle to hit the guardrail on the left side of the highway. The car shot across the lanes of travel and slammed into the guard rail on the right side. At this point, the vehicle began to spin, and hit the second vehicle.

At some point during the incident, the passenger was thrown out of the vehicle. It was not reported whether the victim survived the crash and died later at a hospital or perished at the scene. No other details are available at this time.

Once the passenger is identified and his family located, his loved ones will be forced to find a way to cope with his loss. As they grieve, they will undoubtedly incur expenses in connection with his death such as funeral and burial costs. Proving to a Louisiana court that the driver in this car accident was negligent and that his negligence led to the death of the victim could result in an award of financial damages that could help alleviate the burden of those expenses.
